03 December 2018 Current Events 2002 Gujarat riots: Zakia Jafri's plea against clean chit to Modi will be heard today

On October 5 2017, Zakia, the widow of Congress leader Ehsan Jafri, had challenged the clean chit given to PM Modi in the 2002 riots case.

In November 2018, Justices A M Khanwilkar, along with Deepak Gupta deferred the hearing by one week. The clean chit was given to Modi with others by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).


Combined exercise between the Indian and United States air force from today

A 12-day exercise program of the Indian Air Force, combined with the United States Air Force is scheduled to start from today. The fixed location is Kalaikunda and Panagarh Air Force Base in the country.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the aim is for both the forces to get the benefit of the mutual exchange of efficient practices, leading to enhanced operational exposure. It will also increase the operational capability of both US and India Air Force.
