Madhya Pradesh sets record with plantation of 6 crore saplings in a day

According to reports, a massive plantation campaign was undertaken in Madhya Pradesh to save the environment and conservation of the Narmada river on 2nd July. According to official sources over six crore saplings were planted in 24 districts of Narmada basin in just 12 hours.Arrangements were made to record the whole event for the Guinness World Record. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the plantation drive at Amarkantak of Anooppur district.

India successfully test-fires short-range surface-to-air missile

According to reports, India has successfully test-fired  Surface-to-Air Missile from Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha. This is the second developmental trial of the missile just within three months from the same test range.

Reports suggest that the missile is jointly developed DRDO and Bharat Electronics Ltd.  The  QR-SAM system can also engage multiple targets within a range of around 30 km with two vehicle configuration for area air defence.
