After listening to petitions briefly for 60 seconds, the apex court bench deferred the case hearing to January 10. The bench comprised of CJI Ranjan Gogoi and Justice SK Kaul.
"Further orders will be passed by an appropriate bench on January 10 for fixing the date of hearing the matter", said the bench. There are likely to be three judges on the next bench.
After the party denied rumours of Maken's resignation back in September 2018, the confirmed news has come this time around. Earlier today, Ajay Maken resigned from his post, thanking the party and the party chief for the continued support.
