04 June 2020 Current Events Nisarga Made Landfall on Wednesday, Mumbai Reports No Damage

Nisarga made landfall on Wednesday near Alibaug, about 100 km from Mumbai. The financial capital has escaped the worst of the dreadful cyclone as no reports of damage have been reported. However, movements were restricted in the city as a precautionary measure in public places like beaches, parks, promenades, along with coastline till Thursday afternoon. Further, flight operations which were suspended at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have also resumed. Besides, states/UT like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli are on high alert due to the pressure over the Arabian sea.
