04 September 2019 Current Events Four Lives Lost in a Devastating Fire at ONGC Plant Near Navi Mumbai

As per news reports, four people including the plant's general manager were killed on Tuesday morning in a massive fire that broke out at the ONGC oil and gas processing plant at Nagaon village in Uran, which is barely 30 km away from Navi Mumbai. Firefighters took 4 hours to douse the fire and avoid a bigger disaster. C N Rao, GM and resident production supervisor, unfortunately got trapped in the fire along with 3 CISF firefighters while trying to plug a gas leak. The police have now sealed the surrounding areas of the plant.
