Advani will file his nomination paper from Gandhinagar

Senior BJP leader L K Advani was not interested in fighting elections from Gandhinagar constituency in Modi’s Gujarat and his reluctance led to controversies as well. But today he will file his nomination papers from Gandhinagar. Three times Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will accompany him throughout the day. Advani will arrive Gandhinagar in a special aircraft and head towards the new office of the BJP. After addressing the party workers, Modi and Advani will go to the nomination centre. Modi who has been winning the seat for the last sixteen years will propose Advani’s name. Both will then inaugurate an election office for Advani who will then fly back to Delhi. All over Gandhinagar big hoardings and posters of Advani, Modi and other Gujarat leaders Amit Shah and Anandiben Patel has been placed as a part of big campaign for Advani. The campaign material has big picture of Advani and a small one of Modi’s. Advani was not ready to contest election from Gandhinagar. He wanted to contest from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.  Advani was then persuaded by the senior BJP leaders including Modi as well as Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh. Not only this, Advani was also not happy when party projected Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Extra security for Nagma and Hema Malini

Bollywood glamour has entered into politics and contesting elections. Because of popularity, people try to touch them and get more close to them. Nagma who has been contesting for Meerut seat has faced teasing on three different occasions while campaigning for the party. Yesteryear dream girl, Hema Malini has been contesting from Mathura constituency. Her experience is no different from Nagma as people tries to get too close to her while campaigning. Owing to this they will be given special police protection. Along with these two film actress who have been contesting from Uttar Pradesh, police protection has also been increased for BJP leader Uma Bharti. She has been contesting from Jhansi Lok Sabha constituency. Congress candidate contesting from Moradabad will also be given additional security. The decision to increase the security has been taken by the Election commission and senior police officials. Umesh Sinha, chief electoral officer said that security for female contestants has been increased and all the district authorities have been directed to take strict action against bad elements and one who attempts to mess up the election process.  The poll panel wished for a peaceful election.

US cop Manny Encarnacion arrested in New Delhi for carrying bullets

India and US faced a diplomatic row because of the arrest of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in US. It seems that US India is entering into another round of tiff over the arrest of a New York Police Department officer in New Delhi. Harlem Police Officer Manny Encarnacion has been arrested for carrying bullets. New York Post regarded his arrest as a revenge for Devyani Khobragade case. According to the New York Post, Encarnacion accidently left three bullets in his pocket of a jacket. He was arrested while flying with his wife Veda for vacation from New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. State Department spokesperson Marie Harf refused to comment because of privacy considerations but aware of the entire matter. She added that they want to get rid of the past tensions. Senator Charles Schumer on the other hand asked for the swift process and requested the State Department to take active part in the case. House member Peter King called the arrest outrageous and a political motive of India. He also asked for the intervention of the State Department. The next court date for Encarnacion is April 19 and till then he is not allowed to leave India. Samarjit Gajendra Pattnaik is the lawyer of Encarnacion.

Supermarkets and kirana stores will sell 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders

Supermarkets and kirana stores will now have 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) for sale as Indian Oil Corporation shown green signal to this. In a release the Indian Oil Corporation has said that the sale of these LPG has been launched in 11 kirana stores in Bangalore, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Aligarh. The new 5 kg FTL LPG cylinder will approximately comes in the price range of Rs 1600 and 1700. At every refill only the cost of the product will be paid by exchanging an empty cylinder for the filled one. The sale will be highly beneficial for students, BPO employees and persons doing odd duty because for them it would be convinient to buy filled LPG cylinder for local stores. In the near future, it is expected that sale will be extended to 50 more cities. According to the release, sale of 5 kg FTL cylinders was launched in October last year at selected Oil retail outlets across India.

Bharti Airtel is the second largest mobile services company in Nigeria

In terms of number of subscribers, Bharti Airtel in Nigeria has become the second largest mobile services company. Nigerian telecom regulator NCC has released the latest statistics and according to these, Airtel has crossed Globacom by holding 21% market share and 26,194,336 mobile subscribers. MTN is the largest company in Nigeria mobile market. It holds 45% share in the mobile market and has 57,183,745 mobile subscribers. Airtel Africa CEO Christian de Faria has called this a remarkable achievement for Airtel. He said that it shows our investments are in right direction and so giving us result. In Nigeria Airtel was launched in 2010. Since its launch the company made total investment of more than USD 1.7 billion dollars in its Nigerian telecom network.

AAP attacks BJP and said it owes an answer to demolition of Babri Masjid

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) attacked BJP on the demolition of Babri Masjid by calling it an act of planned sabotage in the wake of a sting operation. BJP questioned about the timing of the sting operation. Reacting to this, AAP leader Ashutosh criticized BJP. He said that the matter in not about timing but whether the Babri Masjid was demolished deliberately or not. During a roadshow in Delhi, Ashutosh said that BJP owes an answer to this. BJP must give an explanation whether it was intentionally demolished or not. In the news portal 'Cobrapost' it has been shown that the entire act was planned but not the work of a frantic crowd of Hindu outfits. Even after the investigation, the CBI has not been able to find out correct evidences against 40 accused. Another AAP leader Kumar Vishwas a candidate from Amethi was also present in the roadshow. He said that the party will win with a clean majority in Amethi. He denied the results of opinion polls about the success of the party in Lok Sabha elections. He said that opinion polls had given just five seats in Delhi assembly polls but results are known to all. Same thing would be repeated in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
