05 August 2019 Current Events Some Prominent Leaders of Kashmir are Kept Under House Arrest

As per recent news updates, some of the prominent politicians of Kashmir have been kept under house arrest. For the time being, public meetings are banned. Reports confirmed that all the mobile networks and internet services have been stopped in this region. Moreover, authorities last week asked Hindu pilgrims and tourists to leave Kashmir. The reason cited by them was “terror threat” while on their way to annual pilgrimage of the Amarnath Temple. Meanwhile, during the early hours of Monday two former chief ministers including Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, were reported to be placed under house arrest.
