05 July 2018 Current Events RBI warns public to be cautious from fictitious offers, lottery winnings

Reserve Bank of India has once again requested and warned people to remain cautious about the activities of unscrupulous elements and not to get tempted by fictitious offers, lottery winnings, or remittance of cheap funds in foreign currency by them. The Bank has restated that it does not hold any account for individuals and neither sends any SMS, nor any letter or email for intimating award of lottery funds, etc. RBI has requested the public not to respond to such SMS or emails and immediately report such cases to cybercrime authorities. 


Speedy evacuation procedure initiated for Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims in Nepal

The evacuation of Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims stuck in Nepal has been initiated. So far, more than 600 Indian pilgrims have been safely evacuated from Simikot. 143 pilgrims were returned to India in 10 flights from Simikot this morning; 336 were airlifted yesterday and 158 on Tuesday. 250 pilgrims have been brought from Hilsa to Simikot.


Sunanda Pushkar Death Case: Shashi Tharoor gets anticipatory bail

Shashi Tharoor, late Sunanda Pushkar's husband and prime suspect in the death case, has been granted an anticipatory bail by the High Court. The Court directed him not to meddle with the evidence and not to leave country without its prior permission.
