05 June 2020 Current Events Health Ministry Issues New Safety Guidelines amid Coronavirus Pandemic

As per the new safety guidelines issued by the centre on Thursday, the rules for entering public places have changed. As per the health ministry, temperature screening will become a must at entrance and visitors will be allowed only if they use face cover or masks which are mandatory at all times, even if inside. Also, if malls are open, cinema halls, gaming arcades and children play areas will remain closed. The physical distancing of 6 feet in queues and entrances should be strictly maintained. The number of people in the elevators should be less. Frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs and handrails are to be disinfected. The seating capacity at a restaurant is 50 per cent. Temples should not encourage jostling crowds and also prasad distribution, vermillion dots and holy water is prohibited. The new rules will come into effect from June 8.
