I will not say anything against Shiv Sena – PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his election rally at Tasgaon in Sangli district of western Maharashtra said against the NCP and Congress but did not say anything against the Shiv Sena, the political party that has just broken its 25-years old alliance with the BJP over seat sharing in Maharashtra. PM Modi said that this is the first election in the state without Balasaheb Thackeray and he has decided not to say anything against the party out of respect for Balasaheb. He also added that feelings are above politics and should not be linked to politics. Modi attacked NCP chief Sharad Pawar. He also added that Gujarat was part of Maharashtra till 1960 and they have always treated Maharashtra as a big brother.

Suresh Raina's great 109 off 69 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders

With Suresh Raina's smashing score of 109 off just 69 balls, Chennai Super Kings (CSKs)won the Champions League Twenty20 by eight wickets. CSKs played match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Bangalore. Raina became the first Indian to score a hundred and first Chennai player to have three-figure score in the Champions League Twenty20. Raina made 842 runs in 24 matches with an average 38.27. Raina scored 100 off 59 balls. Gautam Gambhir (80) and Robin Uthappa (39) of Kolkatta Knight Riders shared a partnership of 91 runs. But CSKs restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to 180-6.

Kamal Haasan thanked PM for making him a part of 'Clean India Campaign'

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is one of the nine celebrities chosen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 'Clean India Campaign'. The actor has accepted the invitation and thanked PM Modi for recognizing his efforts. The actor picked his Facebook account to express solidarity. Apart from Kamal Haasan, PM Modi has also invited Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, the entire cast of TV show ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’, Yoga Guru Ramdev Baba, Anil Ambani, Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha and Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor to be a part of the campaign.

Lenovo A8-50 launched in India

Lenovo India launched Lenovo A8-50, an Android tablet in Indian market. 8-inch device comes with the voice-calling feature. The device will soon be upgraded to the latest version - Android 4.4 KitKat. Priced at Rs 17,999, A8-50 the device has a 1.3 GHz MediaTek Quad-Core processor, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. User can expand the storage to 32 GB by using microSD card. A 4200mAh Li-Polymer fixed battery provides the talktime of 11 hours.

BHEL's 6000 MW thermal power plant in Telangana

6,000 MW thermal power plant will be set up in Telangana by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). BHEL chairman and managing director B. Prasad Rao and Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TS GENCO) chairman and managing director. D. Prabhakar Rao signed a MoU. The BHEL will take three years to execute the project. The newly formed state is facing the problem of electricity shortage. The state government will buy 2,000 MW of power to fulfill the needs of the state.

PM Modi rejects post-poll alliance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has altogether rejected the possibility of poll-post alliance with the Shiv Sena which was earlier indicated by senior BJP leaders. While addressing a rally in Maharashtra he said that how can a government in Delhi work with someone who shuts the doors for us and does not have courage to share a platform with me? Though he does not name any political party but his words were saying it all. He promised to make Mumbai slum-free by 2022. He even promised to make Mumbai a world-class city and vowed to modernize its railway network with the help of foreign direct investment.
