05 September 2018 Current Events Teachers Day Being Celebrated in India; Vice President to Give Away National Teachers Awards

On the occasion of birth anniversary of educationalist and former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Teachers Day 2018 is being celebrated in India. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will give away several National Teachers Award at a function in New Delhi today. President Ram Nath Kovind greeted teachers on this occasion and conveyed his regards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also interacted with the winners of these awards and said that the educators should work towards removing the disconnect between the teachers and the students.


India to take on Sri Lanka in Dhaka Today

India, the defending champion is going to take on Sri Lanka at South Asian Football Federation Cup(SAFF) in Dhaka today. India has earlier won the title of this regional title seven times out of eleven editions. Other than India Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan, Bhutan, and Bangladesh are the participating countries in the tournament.
