TDP-BJP alliance a day before Lok Sabha polls

Telugu Desam Party has entered a pre-poll alliance with BJP a day before Lok Sabha elections. Naidu left the National Democratic Alliance in 2004 when it loss in 2014 general election. The alliance is now considered as his return to NDA. Naidu is taken as a very strong force in the Seemandhra region. Announcing his alliance with NDA, he said that Narendra Modi will lead the NDA by winning 300 plus seats in the Lok Sabha elections. In Telangana, BJP will contest 8 Lok Sabha and 47 Assembly seats whereas in Seemandhra the party will contest 5 Lok Sabha and 15 Assembly seats. Entire party has not welcomed the decision of alliance with open arms as some of TDP activist protested the decision of Naidu. BJP’s presence in Andhra Pradesh is not so big but minor and also the alliance will give TDP a chance to form first state government in the Seemandhra region. In most of the opinion polls TDP has come out as the biggest political party in the Seemandhra region. The alliance is expected to help both the parties.

MS Dhoni won 2014 Asian Award for his outstanding performance in sports

For exceptional performance in sports, Indian captain MS Dhoni has been awarded with the 2014 Asian award last night. Dhoni at present is leading his team in ICC World Twenty 20 (T20) 2014 at Bangladesh. Former England cricketer Mark Ramprakash read out the message of Dhoni at award ceremony that took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Dhoni dedicated the award to his fans in Asia and all over the world. Dhoni is the first captain who won all the three ICC titles in 2013. He has also been ranked 16th in the Forbes list of the highest paid athletes. The Asian Business Leader of the Year award has been awarded to Dr Cyrus Poonawalla, Chairman of Poonawalla Group for his valuable contribution to the field of medicine. Indian film and TV actor Irrfan Khan was selected for the Asian outstanding achievement in Cinema award. His two films 1 Millionaire (2008) and Life of Pi (2012) won the Academy Award for Best Director.

AAP candidate V Balakrishnan – Only AAP can give clean governance

Former Infosys director and the AAP candidate from Bangalore Central constituency V Balakrishnan said that there is no Modi wave in the country and called both Congress as well as BJP the corrupt parties. He also said that there is no Modi wave but an anti Congress wave that can be filled by any party. MPs do not have anything to talk about so they are talking about the performance of Modi. Answering if NDA forms the government he said that AAP will sit in the opposition and won’t join hands either with Congress or BJP as there is no difference between the two parties.  These parties cannot give clean governance. Only AAP is an honest party and talks about clean governance. This is a time for change and feeling is immensely strong for AAP.  In this elections money, caste power and muscle won’t workand this can be seen in Delhi assembly elections. People voted for AAP because they felt it is the only party which can give honest governance. Such a change is coming all across India. Answering the question about dent in the image of the party after it gave up governance in Delhi Balakrishnan said that power has no meaning without ability to change. AAP would have done lot more if won by majority. People understand this. People of his constituency should vote for him as he does not have any inheritance and so free to change.

GMR-Megawide consortium has been awarded with US $ 700 million airport project

Us $ 700 million project has come to the kitty of a GMR-Megawide consortium who has been asked to develop and operate the Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Philippines. The payment includes the upfront payment of US$ 320 million to the Philippines government. The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) of Philippines granted this project to GMR. In a release, DOTC Spokesperson Michael Arthur Sagcal said that GMR-Megawide has been awarded with the 25-year concession. The decision has been taken after reviewing various legalities raised by bidder. He added that nothing else but only the law and the country's interests have been kept in mind while awarding the project. The world-class airport will boost the economy as well tourism industry. Megawide is a construction company based in Philippines. GMR Infrastructure, a Bangalore based company showed interest in developing Mactan-Cebu Airport and jobs for local community. GM Rao, chairman GMR Group said that GMR-Megawide consortium has the right capabilities and credentials to start the esteemed project. We will create such an airport that Cebuanos and Filipinos will be proud of. GMR-Megawide has to complete the post award requirements in 20 days. This includes an irretrievable letter of credit and the payment of the premium amount to government.

Election Commission seek Amit Shah's 'revenge' remark tapes

An inquiry has been started by the Election Commission over speech delivered by Amit Shah in Muzaffarnagar asking "revenge" for riots. Uttar Pradesh electoral officer has been asked to search for tapes having the speech of Shah delivered in Muzaffarnagar. The Congress asked for the arrest of Shah as well as he must be banned from campaigning. Amit Shah is considered as a right hand of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. He is party’s general secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party is also making the same kinds of demands. The party is saying that Shah must not be allowed to enter UP. Though other political parties are criticizing the remarks but BJP is defending him. Party’s spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said that Shah has captured the mood of the nation. Party spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also defended Shah and said that people of UP has been insulted by the government and revenge must be taken for the same. Congress accessed Shah for creating enmity between communities. The party made a complaint to the Election Commission and asked for an FIR against him under Section 125 of the Representation of Peoples Act. The Aam Aadmi Party sought an immediate action against Shah by the Election Commission. The AAP in a statement said that case must be registered against him for inciting remarks.

Adarsh Scam and Devyani Khobragade – CBI is likely to a charge sheet

Tensions are not leaving Devyani Khobragade alone for the past one year. Earlier she was arrested in New York for US Visa fraud case and now CBI is expected to file a charge sheet against her and her father Uttam Khobragade in the Adarsh Housing scam. They have been charged of forcefully acquiring a flat in the society by showing false affidavit. The society itself is said to be built by violating norms. As per the sources, CBI has got certain proofs which show that she purchased the flat with false declaration. She even hid the information pertaining to the land and the flat allotted to her under government quota. Her father was the former CEO of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). After arrest in New York Khobragade was sent back to India and now posted in India. Near about 25 illegal beneficiaries are under the scrutiny of CBI. They were allotted flats in Adarsh Housing Society. As per the sources Devyani Khobragade was allotted plot in another government housing society in Oshiwara in 2005. According to the rules of Defence Estate no member can have flats in two societies which were constructed on the land brought on concessional rates. In Patil report it is clear that there are 25 ineligible members out of 102 in the Adarsh Housing Society. Uttam Khobragade said that Devyani Khobragade knew nothing about the declaration as it was made by him.
