06 April 2018 Current Events Woman weightlifter Sanjita Chanu wins second gold for India on the 2nd day of CWG 2018

Sanjita Chanu, a woman weighlifter, won gold in the women's 53 kg category for India on the second day of the competition. She lifted a total of 192 kg in the competition. She made a new CWG record by lifting 84 kg in the snatch category and then lifted 108 kg in the clean and jerk.She competed against Loa Dika Toua of Papua New Guinea and Canada’s Rachel Leblanc-Bazinet. She made her first attempt of 81 kg in the snatch and took the lead.


Salman Khan's bail plea hearing begins in the Jodhpur Session Court

On 05th April, 2018, the Jodhpur court prounced its judgement over the 20-year-old blackbuck case. The Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been convicted and sentenced to five-year imprisonment for killing two blackbucks. The actor's lawyer, Mahesh Bora has prepared a 51-page bail application mentioning 54 grounds to be considered by the judge based to grant him bail. He stated that the arguements of the witnesses are not trustworthy and they should not be taken into account.They have preferred an appeal to the Hon'ble Session Court of Jodhpur and applied for an urgent hearing today. The hearing for the bail application has begun inside the session court at 10:30 A.M.
