06 April 2020 Current Events PM's 9 pm 9 min Appeal Makes Holes in the Primary Intention of the Lockdown

Rules are broken amidst the 21 days nationwide lockdown in some parts of India as a call to Prime Minister Modi's 9-minute lights out to show country's "collective resolve" to fight Coronavirus (Coronavirus in India - Just Facts). On Friday, PM urged people to switch off lights and stand at their balconies with lit lamps, diyas or torches on April 5 at 9 pm, however, he indeed mentioned performing the activity from their balconies. However, in many parts of the country, people took to the roads in large groups and processions, blowing holes in the intention behind the lockdown. Member of the Telangana legislative assembly from BJP burned torch and chanted for "Chinese Virus" to go away. Another such procession took place in Azamgarh, UP breaching the strictly imposed lockdown. People in many parts of the country also burst firecrackers, bringing the improved air quality down to a great extent.
