06 August 2018 Current Events PV Sindhu wins silver in World Championships in Nanjing, China

Indian shuttler PV Sindhu won a silver medal in World Championships in Nanjing, China. She lost the final match to the Olympic champion Carolina Marin of Spain and came second in the tournament for the second time.    


Virat Kohli tops in ICC rankings for Test Batsmen category

Indian skipper and captain Virat Kohli tops in the ICC Rankings for the Test Batsmen category after scoring an amazing century in the opening test match series against England in Birmingham. After this achievement, Virat became the first Indian batsmen to attain this position after Sachin Tendulkar in June 2011. 


Four boys drowned in Yamuna river in Alipur

Four minor boys have drowned in the Yamuna river today morning in the Alipur area located on the outskirts of Delhi. The boys were from Haryana and drowned while swimming in the river. Till now, bodies of two boys have been found by the rescue teams. 


UIDAI refutes reports of stealing of data by Aadhaar's helpline number

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has slammed all the reports stating the stealing of the data from the mobile phones by the Aadhaar's helpline number displayed on the contact list of the users. According to the authority, this news has been circulated to tarnish the image of Aadhaar.
