Madhya Pradesh CM announced power bill waiver scheme and subsidized power scheme for the underprivileged

Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced Bijli Bill Mafi Yojana 2018 (Power Bill Waiver Scheme) for the labourers and poor families in the poll-bound state on June 5, 2018. Along with this scheme, he also approved Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2018 (a scheme to provide subsidised power) to the people falling below the poverty line in which they will be provided electricity at Rs. 200/- per month.

M.K. Jain becomes Deputy Governor of RBI

The IDBI's Bank CEO and MD, M.K. Jain was appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India on June 05, 2018, for a term of three years by the government. He got appointed in place of S.S. Mundra, who had completed his three-year term in July last year.

Union Government declares Rs. 8,000 crore package to help sugarcane farmers

The Union Government has declared Rs. 8,000 package for the sugarcane farmers to assist them in clearing their dues and provide relief to them. A buffer stock of 30 lakh metric tonnes of the sugar will be created with Rs 1,200 crore. This money will be directly transferred in the bank accounts of these sugarcane farmers. The minimum sale price of Rs 29/kg for sugar will be maintained by the government.
