On Thursday evening, the renowned Marathi and English playwright and novelist Kiran Nagarkar passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai. A close relative of the family informed that he was suffering from brain hemorrhage and was admitted in the hospital for treatment. Born in 1942, Nagarkar was 77 when he breathed his last. His first novel, 'Saat Sakkam Trechalis' came out in 1974. He truly got the recognition in 2001 when he won Sahitya Akademi award for 'Cuckold' which was released in 1997.
