14,000 km Bharat Yatra with a message to eradicate casteism by social activist Bose

Dubai-based social activist and a lawyer by profession K.K. Sarachandra Bose is all set to start a 14,000-km Bharat Yatra along with a team of 34-volunteers. He and his team will start Bharat Yatra from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on Monday and end it at New Delhi on July 18 with an objective to eradicate casteism in India. Bose is 62 years old and written a letter to the Indian Government explaining the ways to get rid of casteism. He will also give out his book "Caste Away! India, Hinduism and Untouchability" during his Bharat Yatra.

Mumbai metro starts to operate from Sunday

Long awaited Mumbai Metro will be inaugurated this Sunday. This has been announced at a media conference by RInfra's Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd CEO Abhay Mishra as per media report. The metro with 12 elevated stations will cover 11.4 km distance from Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar east-west. It will work from 5:30 in the morning till midnight at a speed of 80 kmph. Presently each train will have four coaches but the number will be increased to six per train by 2017. The distance between between Versova to Ghatkopar will be covered in 21 minutes.

Nitin Gadkari new rural development minister

Minister of road transport and highways and shipping Nitin Gadkari has been officially given a charge of the rural development ministry as per media report. He will handle the responsibility of rural development, panchayati raj and drinking water and sanitation which was given to Gopinath Munde. Gadkari has been given additional charges because of sudden demise of Munde in a road accident Tuesday morning.

Yogendra Yadav is a valued colleague says Kejriwal

Letter written by Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav got leaked and in the matter former chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal was also dragged. But Kejriwal has called Yadav a "valued colleague". As per media report Kejriwal added that many important questions have been raised by Yadav which will be tackled by the party. Party convener also tweeted that party will put all sorts of efforts to bring back Shazia Ilmi on board who left the party a month back.

Kudankulam Nuclear Plant Unit generated 1000 MW

India’s first 1,000 MW the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KNPP) generated 1000 MW for the first time in India Saturday afternoon as per media report. In the morning the unit was performing well at 950 MW so there was no problem in pushing it to 1000 MW. The unit will function at the same capacity for few more days and then dynamic tests would be performed after getting permission from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB). Subsequently a performance report will be submitted to the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB).
