08 February 2018 Current Events India wins against South Africa in 3rd ODI

India has won by 124 runs against South Africa in the third One Day International. With this, India has taken a 3-0 lead. This is the biggest win for India against South Africa in South Africa in terms of runs. Earlier, on February 5, Indian women's cricket team won against South Africa by 88 runs in Kimberley taking a lead of 1-0.


Biennal Auto Expo 2018: Inauguration today

The inaugration of Auto Expo 2018 is done today while it will be open to the general public on February 9. The 14th edition of Auto Expo of 2018 is expected to see nearly 24 new launches and the unveiling of over 100 vehicles. The first day of the Auto-Expo 2018 saw concepts from Maruti Suzuki, Renault, KIA Kotors along with the launch of the Hyundai Ioniq and Elite i20. Other release and concepts include BMW 6 Series GT, BMW F750GS, BMW F850GS, BMW M5, Maruti Suzuki E-Survivor electric compact SUV Concept, Mahindra Stinger Concept etc.


Andhra Pradesh Bandh: Schools and colleges reportedly shut

Left parties, including the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and several other smaller parties, have called for a shutdown in Andhra Pradesh to protest against the “anti-people” Union Budget of 2018. More than 1300 APSRTC (Andhra Pradesh Surface Road Transport Corporation) buses were stopped in Visakhapatnam. The government in Andhra Pradesh has declared a holiday for schools and colleges as a precautionary measure in the state. The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has also called for protests in the state.
