08 January 2020 Current Events Convicts of 2012 Nirbhaya Rape and Murder Case to be Hanged on January 22, 7 AM

Delhi court has issued death warrant to 4 convicts of the 2012 Nirbhaya rape and murder case on January 22, 7 am. It said the court has given "sufficient time and opportunity" to exhaust their legal remedies. The order came after seven years since the incident took place. Jyoti Singh's (Nirbhaya) mother had filed a plea in Delhi Patiala House court, seeking death warrants against the four convicts on December 13, 2018. However, the judge said that sufficient time have been given to the convicts to exhaust their legal remedies.
