08 March 2019 Current Events Nari Shakti Awards to be presented by President Kovind on International Women's Day

President Ram Nath Kovind will present Nari Shakti Awards, the highest civilian honour for women in India on the occasion of Women's Day. This year 44 awardees have been selected to give away the award. The Nari Shakti Awards has also been awarded to a One Stop Centre and also to a state as they have contributed to exceptional progress in improving the child sex ratio at birth. International Women's Day is being celebrated in India today. The theme for this year is 'Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change'.
