Shiv Sena asks PM to Concentrate on National Security instead of Maharashtra Election Campaign

Shiv Sena has urged Narendra Modi, Indian PM, to concentrate more on stopping atrocities done by Pakistan Rangers rather than spending most of his time in campaigning for Maharashtra's BJP candidates. In the editorial of Samna, Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece, PM’s overindulgence in campaigning for Maharashta Assembly has been compared with undermining India’s national security.

Narendra Modi vouches for United Maharashtra as his Party's State President Wants Separate Vidarbha

As Raj Thackarey accused BJP of having hidden agenda of splitting Maharashtra, Narendra Modi responded to the allegations by saying Mumbai will remain within Maharashtra and no one will be able to bifurcate the state till he remains PM of India. However, BJP President of Maharashtra seems to disagree with the Indian PM. Devendra Fadnavis has made it clear that his party still supports formation of Vidarbha state, chopped out of Maharashtra.

Kerala Congress Fumes over Shashi Tharoor's Support to 'Swachh Bharat' Campaign

Kerala Congress has recommended disciplinary action against Shashi Tharoor for supporting Indian Prime Minister’s 'Swachh Bharat' campaign. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee has said that Tharoor’s functioning is unacceptable to them. INC High Command is yet to take a decision on the same. Tharoor responded by saying his actions regarding 'Swachh Bharat' campaign corroborates INC’s basic principles and Congress must not be seen as a party that resorts to petty politics, putting politics above national interest.

Sports Minister Announces Sports Hub in Visakhapatnam

While felicitating the Gold and Silver medal winners of just concluded Asian Games, Sports Minister K. Acham Naidu has declared his plans of developing Visakhapatnam as Andhra Pradesh’s sports hub. Andhra Pradesh lost its sports complex in Hyderabad to Telangana after bifurcation. While a tribal sports academy is planned to be set up in Araku, sports school at the cost of Rs. 50 crore will be set up at Vetajangalapalem.

Flipkart founders at last apologised to their customers for the glitch that created problem for the customers on Big Billion Day Sale. In the email to customers, the founders apologised for not being able to live up to the promises made by Flipkart. This email from Binny Bansal and Sachin Bansal is believed to have done a major damage control to eCommerce site’s reputation and public image.

Hud Hud on its way to Odhisa-Andhra Pradesh Coast

Deep depression that formed over North Andaman sea has now become a cyclonic storm, named Hud Hud, and is now heading towards the coast of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, Indian Meteorological Department  has confirmed.  It is expected to hit shores (between Vishakhapatnam and Gopalpur) on October 12. In the coming 24 hours the cyclonic storm will further intensify.

India Replies Strongly to Pakistani Ranger's Unprovoked Firing and Shelling

After 8 civilian deaths and 50 civilian injuries, India has warned Pakistan that the former is not afraid of escalating fire. Government has instructed Indian forces along the border to reject talks and escalate firing until and unless Pakistan Rangers stop their relentless shelling and firing along 200 kms of International Border in J&K. Indian forces have retaliated by targetting 73 Pakistani posts with small arms and mortars.

While Union Home Minister decides upon handing over Burdwan Blast Issue to NIA, West Bengal Police Unearths two more Terrorist Hideouts

On October 2, Sovan Mandal and Shakil Ahmed, two suspected militants were killed while making explosives at Khagragarh locality of Burdwan district, West Bengal. While Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is in the process of taking final call on handing over the case to NIA, Burdwan Police has unearthed two more suspected hideouts, very near to the blast site. From these places burnt documents have been recovered but the 4 inhabitants are missing since the day of blast.

BJP is Expected to Miss the Magic Number during Maharashtra Assembly Election

Bookies of Mumbai have atlast resurfaced and predicted a fractured mandate for Maharashtra Assembly during October 15 election. Their predicted seat counts for major 5 political parties are 110-115 seats for BJP, 15-20 seats for MNS, and 40 to 50 seats for Shiv Sena, NCP, and INC each. BJP is expected to miss the magic number of 145 seats to form government independently in the 288-member assembly.

Though the exact number of layoffs are not yet known, it is learnt that Yahoo is going to curtail all jobs except customer care and global operations in India. Rumor mills say that extent of layoffs can be anything from 400 to 2000 employees.
