08 October 2018 Current Events Indian Air Force celebrates its 86th anniversary today

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating its 86th anniversary today and to mark the occasion IAF will perform a great parade cum Investiture Ceremony at Air Force Station Hindon (Ghaziabad). It will be followed by a beautiful display by the Air Warrior Drill team. The acrobatics team is also going to perform in the celebrations. In the last eight decades, the IAF has evolved to a great extent and has emerged as one of the best Air Force in the world.


Youth Olympic Games: India finishes with 2 medals on Day 1

India opened its medal account with a silver medal in the Youth Olympics taking place in Buenos Aires. Tushar Mane won a silver medal in men's 10-meter air rifle event in the Olympics. Another medal for the day was won by Tababi Devi Thangjam in the women's 44 kg category in Judo. India is participating in 13 sports in the Youth Olympics and is represented by 46 athletes. It is the largest contingent of India at the Youth Olympics.
