After getting the green light from Lok Sabha, with just three votes in opposition, the 10% quota bill will go into the Rajya Sabha today.

The ruling party BJP lacks a majority in the upper house. Hence, getting the "go ahead" might turn out to be a challenge for the government.

Alok Verma reinstated by the SC, can hold investigations

Reinstated on the condition that he cannot take any major policy decision, CBI director Alok Verma can resume his duties. If he wishes, Verma can hold investigations for ongoing cases, as well as, register new ones.

CBI has no laid down, written laws about the definition of a "major policy decision", however. Moreover, it is still uncertain whether or not Alok Verma will be allowed to probe special director Asthana's case or not.
