ABVP members attack AAP leaders in Varanasi

AAP leaders Gul Panag and Raghu, were manhandled inside the Benaras Hindu University (BHU), while on a road show in Varanasi. As per media reports, a group of people belonging to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), chased them with sticks, who were driven away by the BHU students. In an earlier incident, AAP had stated that BJP workers had tried to attack them.

AAP conducts road show in Varanasi

AAP leader, Arvind Kejriwal held a road show in Varanasi, starting from the remote parts of the city. As per media reports, Kejriwal has been campaigning in Varanasi for over a month, to get in touch with the villagers and minorities. AAP believes to win the seat with huge majority. The party candidate added, that the people of Varanasi ask Modi, stating how can a person who comes in a helicopter for campaigning only for a few hours serve them.

I won't support BJP, if it came to power : Mayawati

Mayawati has stated, that she won’t support the BJP government if the party came to power, as per media reports. This was in reference to one of Modi's recent interviews, where he spoke that Jayalalithaa, Mamata Banerjee and Mayawati were his potential allies. Mayawati said, that she wanted to clarify her stance, that she will not be extending support to the BJP.

SC hands over the Saradha scam case to CBI

The Apex Court has handed over the Saradha scam case to the CBI, for further investigation in the case. It will also probe into the Ponzi fund scam in Odisha. The court also specified that the investigation by the West Bengal Police did not make much headway in the Saradha scam case, which also had an effect in other states as well. CBI has also been asked to probe into the magnitude of the money laundering that was involved in the scam.

Sensex touches 23,000 points, a record high

The Sensex soared by 650 points and touched 23,000 points, spurred by a positive sentiment that the Modi-led government will bring stability to the country and ensure development. This is for the first time, that Sensex has touched the record 23,000 mark. Nifty also touched the all-time high of 6,871 points. Though, the Sensex ended trade at 22,994.23 points.

73% children below 13 years addicted to Facebook

A study conducted by ASSOCHAM has revealed, that minors below 13 years of age were extensively using Facebook. The reports suggest, 73% of children in this age group were Facebook users. The study was done on 4,200 parents of children between 8-13 years of age, and the concerning factor was that 75% of the parents were even aware of that. The survey also indicated that the children with working parents were found to be more addicted to Facebook, due to absence of parental supervision.
