Today, the sixty-four-year-old Bilari MLA, Haji Irfan along with SP leader KP Singh and driver Farzad Ali were killed after their vehicle fell into a ditch. The Samajwadi Party MLA was on his way to attend the wedding ceremony of Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Shivpal Singh Yadav’s son at Saifai in Etawah district. The MLA, Irfan is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters.
A 26-year-old PhD scholar from JNU has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan of his room at the rented accommodation in south Delhi’s Ber Sarai area. Identified as Dushyant, a native of Bareily in U.P. the JNU student has left a suicide note wherein he has mentioned some personal issues related to family and relationship with a woman, to be the reason behind his act.
Japanese two-wheeler giant Suzuki is all prepared to launch the 2016 version of its renowned scooter, Access 125 on 15 March 2016. Backed by a refreshed design and some great features, Suzuki Access 125 has already been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The new Suzuki scooter comes with a lighter frame, a restyled apron, larger turn indicators and an innovative headlamp.
Haryana government will be installing an early earthquake warning system at New Secretariat Building in Sector-17, Chandigarh on 14 March 2016. The system would be competent in detecting an earthquake a few seconds before the tremors reach the exact area where the facility has been installed. The residents would hence be alerted about the forthcoming earthquake. The system would be tested via utilization of artificial waves.
Claiming that around seventy per cent of auto drivers given new permits are non-Marathis, the MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Seva) chief Raj Thackeray has threatened that his party workers would be setting ablaze the autos which are being driven by non-Marathis. Thackeray has demanded only sons of Maharashtra must be given licenses and non-Marathis should not be offered the permission to drive autos on Maharashtra roads.
ISRO is all geared up to launch its sixth navigation satellite IRNSS-1F on board trusted workhorse PSLV C32 at 4:00 p.m. today. With the 54-and-half hour countdown already initiated yesterday, the PSLV is progressing normally. Aimed at providing navigation on par with the US-based Global Positioning System, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C32 would be launching the IRNSS-1F from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at the spaceport of Sriharikota, situated about 110 Km from Chennai.
The opening deals saw the BSE Sensex and Nifty edging lower, basis the selling pressure in FMCG and other technology stocks. The Delhi government has revamped the excise policy which has made the entire process of procuring a license to store alcohol in large quantities, an online activity. The L-30 license can hence be procured via the internet.
