10 May 2019 Current Events Rs 100 Crore Fine Imposed by NGT for Illegal Mining

AP government heaved a sigh of relied as Supreme Court stayed Rs 100 cr fine which is foisted by NGT (National Green Tribunal) for illicit sand mining. As per the reports, in a petition by the state government, NGT didn't consider its submission. Hence, SC ordered NGT to hear the state government's defense and finish the the case within three months. Sand mining has increased in the state in the last few years due to rising demand in constructions activities which prompted an NGO to file a petition.
