Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi's NaMo favoring tweet

Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi openly declared her support for the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi followed by Anna Hazzare’s support. Both the eminent personalities were expected to be close to AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minsiter Arvind Kejriwal. Speculations are now going on whether they will join the party. Bedi has always said that she won’t join any political party and her views must be regarded as views of an independent citizen of India. She mentioned in her tweet that India needs a strong leader tested with time and it can be Modi. “For me it's India First! Stable, Well Governed, Administered, Accountable and Inclusive. As a an independent voter, my vote is for NaMo”. Responding to this, BJP’s spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that support for Modi is coming from all across the nation and the party welcomes Bedi’s statement who has a very strong position. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy took a step forward and said that Bedi and a former army chief General VK Singh must be invited to join the party. General Singh was initially with the AAP but due to some differences he joined Anna Hazare’s group in September 12. Though he also praised Modi occasionally but like Bedi kept himself away from any political party.

An American diplomat in India expelled - Devyani Khobragade case

An American diplomat in India is expelled after the case of senior Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in US. Devyani was arrested on her way to home after dropping her kid to school in New York. She was strip searched on visa fraud case and underpaying her maid. She was then released, given complete diplomatic immunity and later asked to leave the country. But on the expulsion of an American diplomat, the State Department spokesman Jen Psaki said that the US is “deeply regretted” today. He confirmed that a US official in India will be leaving the post at the request of the government of India. He called this a very challenging time for US-India relationship and the US is expecting that India must do something so that this relationship does not come to a closure. For the improvement of the US-India relationships India must take some significant steps. India has asked the senior US official (the unnamed Director-rank American diplomat) to leave the country in slightly more than 48 hours. Devyani Khobragade was arrested against partial immunity and then she was shifted to the UN and been given a full immunity. India expected an unconditional apology from the US.

Infosys held Media conference at Mysore campus

Infosys at its campus in Mysore held a huge media conference to tell that everything is fine within the company. At the media conference, the company announced its December quarter results. The show was led by Infosys’s co founder N R Narayana Murthy to answer the questions. He joined back the company in June as an sexecutive chairman. The stage was shared by 25 other members and some of them were given new responsibilities. In the recent months two top level executives have left the company and it is expected that more exists of these kinds can be seen in the coming future due to change in the structure of the organization. In the restructuring, two senior executives have been appointed as presidents - B G Srinivas and U B Pravin Rao. The executive council of the company which was comprised of near about 30 people has been dissolved. Analysts are expecting that such changes and loss of senior level executives will definitely impact the company in getting new business. On this Murthy said that two groups have been formed which will be looking at the expansion of executive council and organizational restructuring. He further added that organization’s restructuring was essential but took longer time. On the issue of the exits of executive he said that the company had set up the leadership institute in Mysore in 2000 to tackle the issues of these kinds.

Mismanagement at government's Janta Darbar

Janta Darbar by Delhi Government received more than expected response and that is why a stampede like situation arose urging for better security and planning. Both administration and police need to put better planning for the success of the events of such kind. One of the police officer without disclosing his identity said that instead of calling everybody on a single day it should be done subject wise, area wise or ministry wise. Also there should be strictness in terms of crowd control measures and at the same time number of police personnel should increase. But with this purpose of Delhi Darbar and a public hearing won’t be solved. A common man won’t be able to meet Chief Minister or other Ministers. 500 police personnel were there at the venue of the Darbar i.e. Delhi Secretariat. Apart from this there were 400-500 personnel of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). It was the first Janta Darbar but mismanagement forced Chief Minsiter Arvind Kejriwal to leave the venue in between because public was pushing each other for filing their complaints. Kejriwal said that he had to leave in between because it could easily lead to stampede. He further added that such a possibility will be kept in mind and the system will be streamlined for the next time.

Kapil Sharma's joke on show brought trouble

Kapil Sharma’s show Comedy Night with Kapil is once again facing a trouble. Two NGOs Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan and Kaydeshir Wagne have filed a complaint and then a cause notice to comedian Kapil Sharma and Colors has been issued by the Maharashtra State Commission. In the notice an explanation has been sought from them within a fortnight. NGO in notice said that some of Kapil’s jokes do not go well with the certain women’s rights activists. In one of the episode of the show aired on January 5 he made a joke on potholes on the roads but added a poor pregnant woman to it. While making fun of the potholes on the road he said that if a poor pregnant woman comes across such potholes on the road then on the spot delivery can happen. This was taken as an insult by the women activists and became a reason for filing a complaint against him and the channel. A veteran actress Hema Malini was the guest on that episode. It is not the first time that Kapil Sharma and his show is facing a trouble. Earlier his property caught fire, then there were allegations of tax evasion and recently Gutthi, a famous character of the show (played by Sunil Grover) walked out.

Punjab team enters semi-final in Ranji Trophy

Punjab defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 100 runs at Moti Bagh stadium and reached semi-finals in Ranji Trophy. Punjab team will now face Karnataka to be held in Mohali from January 18. Seamer VRV Singh took five wickets including Parvez Rasool (10), Manzoor Dar (10), Obaid Haroon (0) and Samiullah Beigh (2). Jammu and Kashmir started their second innings at 77-2 on Saturday to chase the target of 324 runs. But soon their target to enter semi-final came to an end with the quick fall of wickets. But all rounder Rasool showed an excellent performance. Rasool is the first from his state to be picked up for Indian team to play international games. He scored hundred in this game as well and thus proved his worth. Despite losing, Jammu and Kashmir team made a stir by reaching to the semi-finals in Ranji Trophy.
