11 September 2018 Current Events Indian Government seeks intervention of RBI to check the currency fall

With the Rupee going all time low against United States Dollars, the Indian Government officials has asked the Reserve Bank of India and the Central Bank, to involve aggressively in matters of the Finance Ministry. In the month of May and June, 2018 the Reserve Bank of India had sold foreign currencies worth billions to curb the fall of Rupee.

 


15 killed in a bus accident at Telengana

In a major accident at Telangana's Jagtial district, a state transport bus fell into a valley killing 15 people and injuring 20. The bus was returning from Kondagattu to Jagtial, when it swerved off the ghat road and fell into the valley. The injured people were transferred to different hospitals.

 


Mehul Choksi, claims his properties are seized illegally

Mehul Choksi, the fugitive businessman, wanted in the Punjab National Bank 13,000 crore fraud case has spoken on the internet for the first time. He is a Antiguan citizen, and spoke in an online video that his properties are illegally seized by the Enforcement Directorate. He also stated that his passport is suspended due to security threats to India. Mr. Choksi along with his nephew Nirav Modi fled from India on January, 2018.
