Bansal threatens journalist

Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, who had stepped down on Friday due to his nephew being entangled in the bribery controversy, not only came down harshly on a journalist but also threatened him.

The media person had asked him about the companies his family owned. To this Bansal, who had come from New Delhi to Chandigarh, stated that he was not there to answer journalist's questions about his family and he can get inside then he would let him know of many things.

This has been taken seriously by Chandigarh Press Club which has asked for unconditional apology from the minister for intimidating a journalist on duty. It was also stated that this was not expected from a minister. Bansal is the Chandigarh MP.

KKR win by five wickets against RCB

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tasted victory today against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) when they won the match by five wickets.

The Knights had got a paltry score of 116 runs to make which they completed in 19.2 overs, losing five wickets in the process. Jacques Kallis was the top scorer with 41 off 45 balls. Sunil Narine grabbed four wickets.

This spoils RCB's chance to qualify for the playoffs. They are now at the 4th spot.  

Country's first gem bourse to come up at Jaipur

India's first gem bourse will set up at Jaipur. A Rs 50 crore project, it would ensure that there is organized trading in the gem business. Major chunk of the business is expected from overseas. In the next six months, the work on the setting up of the bourse will begin.

In India, there are no gemstone bourses though Mumbai and Surat have diamond bourses.

Import of gems in India is to the tune of Rs. 800-1000 crore while the export of the finished product is Rs. 1500 crore. With the setting up of gem bourse there is a projection of 25-30% increase in exports. 

200 BJP youth wing activists detained

Two hundred activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha were detained and later let off at 2pm for demonstrating outside the PM's residence and asking for his resignation. They even burnt an effigy and broke through two police barricades.

The BJP's youth wing gathered near 7 Race Course Road around 12 p.m. Police had to resort to using tear gas shells and water cannons to disperse them.

Many roads which led to the 7 Race Course Road were closed for the general public and Section 144, banning the assembling of 4 or more persons, were clamped in the area. Even the Race Course Road Metro Station was closed 11 am onward and was reopened at 2 pm. 

"Munnabhai Chale Dilli" shooting to begin after Sanjay Dutt completes jail term

The shooting for Munnabhai Chale Dilli will start after Sanjay Dutt completes his jail term. This will be the third edition of the Munnabhai series.

Director Subhash Kapoor said the movie cannot be made without Sanjay Dutt. He has directed earlier films like Phas Gaye Rey Obama and Jolly LLB.

Sanjay Dutt has been given five years jail imprisonment out of which 1.5 years he has already served earlier.

Rajkumar Hirani directed the first two movies of Munnabhai series, Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai
