12 May 2020 Current Events India's Current Recovery Rate Stands at 31.15% which is "Encouraging"

After a record-breaking highest single-day jump in India’s Coronavirus cases, the country reports a new recovery rate of 31.15% with 20,917 people having recovered from COVID-19 across the nation. The report has been confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on Monday quoting it as “encouraging”. In the window of 24 hours, i.e. from Sunday to Monday morning, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases crossed 4,000. Further, on May 8, the health ministry issued a fresh discharge policy for Covid-19 patients based on the severity of their condition; those patients would be released whose RT-PCR tests reports would come negative twice. The revised policy also says that people with mild, very mild or pre-symptomatic cases admitted to COVID Care facilities can be discharged after ten days of the onset of symptoms and also if there is no fever for three days. Government is also putting emphasis on the Aarogya Setu Application as it has provided information about 697 potential COVID-19 hotspots in the country. Yesterday, Amit Shah told the Chief Ministers that the app is “very helpful”. The app is available on play store in 12 languages.
