The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is considering to launch its own TV channel to promote a scientific attitude among people and school students. This initiative is being planned by ISRO to augment its outreach all over India.


Himachal Pradesh's highways closed due to incessant rains

Several highways located and connecting Himachal Pradesh have been closed as persistent rains caused landslides in the state. The highways which have been shut down are- Chandigarh-Manali National Highway-21 near Mandi,  Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway-5 near Jabli, Mandi-Pathankot National Highway, Shimla-Nahan national highway, and Chamba-Pathankot National Highway.


Somnath Chatterjee passes away at 89 in Kolkata

Somnath Chatterjee, a former Lok Sabha speaker, passed away at the age of 89 years today morning. He was admitted to the Belle Vue hospital in Kolkata on August 8 due to a kidney disorder. On Sunday morning, he was put on ventilator support after he suffered a heart attack. He had also been a 10-time Parliamentarian and a central committee member of the CPM.
