Powerful Cyclone Phailin moves northwest


In past one decade Cyclone Phailin is the most powerful storm in India that made a landfill at the port town of Gopalpur in Odisha near about 12 hours ago. The Cyclone is now is moving towards northwest direction with the speed of 120 km per hour. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Odisha government is denying of any casualties though reports are stating death of three people because of Phailin. Rescue operations are going on both in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh by the 3,000 personnel of NDRF. Authorities are working towards resuming power supplies and telecommunication links. As a safety measure power supply was shut down before Phailin made landfall on Saturday. As per IMD the speed would reduce to 50-60 km per hour by Sunday evening over Odisha. More than 150 km stretch along coastline is receiving a heavy rainfall. Many coastal villages have submerged by the Cyclone. Due to deep depression it is possible that Bihar may receive a heavy rainfall by late Sunday evening. Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh may also receive rainfall. Though the intensity is gradually decreasing but still the Cyclone is strong enough to cause damage. Asia's largest brackish water lake has also swollen that is located 50 km north of Gopalpur. Near about 860,000 people were moved to safer place before Cyclone Phailin made landfill and 1,00,000 were evacuated from the state of Andhra Pradesh.

India not reacting firmly to Chinese threats - RSS


Mohan Bhagwat, chief of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has alleged that weak policies of UPA government have encouraged the China and Pakistan to invade Indian territories across borders again and again. China is repeatedly testing our bravery and patience and it is a threat to our national security. In addition to this it is throwing away its product in our country. The RSS also proclaimed that communities that attacked some Hindu businessmen in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir district were raising pro-Pakistani slogans. Apart from this he also criticized the comments of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who in his statement to a European delegation has said that the state was only granted and not formally merged with India. Apart from this, his also condemned the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar for not handling murder cases of some Hindu leaders by fundamentalists in Tamil Nadu as effectively as it should be.

India made the strongest recovery – Anand Sharma


Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said that in the recent financial market turmoil, India was hit the most strongly but our country has also made the ‘strongest recovery’. India has rebounded in spite of all the volatility. He was part of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-led high-level delegation to Indonesia and said this while coming back from Indonesia. He told the reporters that India’s stronger recovery is not being talked about. The rupee that touched nearly 70 against dollar has also recovered and now trading little over 60 against the dollar. Various measures have been started by the government to improve the economy. Sharma said that India is doing great on FDI front so the CAD (Current Account Deficit) matter will be addressed effectively. In the last three months needless imports have been brought down whereas exports have been in the positive double digit. Decision to cut interest rates for industry will be taken by the Reserve Bank of India. Sharma said that manufacturing sector will take time to rebound. There is also an improvement in industrial production growth rate.

Apple iPhone 5s crashes more often


Apple claims that iPhone 5s is the fastest of all its devices but some reports have something else to say. According to the reports, apps on iPhone 5s crash more frequently than other devices of the same group. Crittercism, a mobile research firm said that apps that run on iPhone 5s crashes at double the rate as compared to apps running on the iPhone 5 or 5C. The new software and hardware architecture is one of the prime reasons for the same and leading to more frequent crashing of apps. Developers can now get ample time to test their apps for iOS 7. But they might not have been ready for the fresh hardware architecture of 64-bit processing. The iPhone 5s has a new 64-bit A7 chip and an M7 co-processor whereas iPhone 5c is similar to iPhone 5.

Sachin is an epitome of humility - Arjuna Ranatunga


Arjuna Ranatunga, former captain of world cup winning team of Sri Lanka said that Sachin Tendulkar could have played more test cricket. He said that game needs sportsman like Sachin and this need is more than ever. He wished that Sachin should continue supporting the test cricket after his retirement in a same way while playing the game. Ranatunga said that it took him three days to decide his retirement. At the time of his retirement he was playing different roles like of an insurance broker, a businessman, part-time politician. But for Sachin it might be a difficult decision. Ranatunga said this during a media interaction after a seminar at the FICCI on Sunday. He also said that Sachin is a personification of humility which makes him different among his peers. He is so humble and hasn’t changed a bit. He said that Sachin is a perfect role model for him and whenever he discuss or speaks about cricket he makes sure to mention Sachin.

Satya 2 is different from Satya – says Puneet Singh


Role of debutant Puneet Singh in ‘Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Satya 2’ is of ‘corporate style gangster’. He is keeping high hopes that audience for sure would like his appearance in the film. In an interview Puneet explained the character further and said that his style of working is different, his think is also different. He does not kill his opponents himself. All he does is planning for the same and he is a corporate style gangster. He also seems to draw a difference between crime thriller ‘Satya’ and Satya 2’ that was also the product of Ram Gopal Varma. Puneet said that story of Satya 2 is neither a sequel nor prequel. Entire set up as well as the story and character is different. In this movie my character comes to Mumbai in 2013 with an objective and how he fulfills the same is the story. Satya 2 is releasing on 25th October. With Puneet, Anaika Soti and Aradhna also debutant will share the screen.
