14 August 2020 Current Events Former President Pranab Mukherjee's Condition Worsens, Remains in Ventilatory Support

Former President Pranab Mukherjee's health conditions continue to be critical. He is currently admitted at Army Hospital (R&R) Delhi Cantt. Mukherjee has undergone life-saving emergency surgery for brain clot on August 10. He remains in ventilatory support. His Daughter shared a prayer on Twitter saying, "Last year August 8 was 1 of the happiest day for me as my dad received Bharat Ratna. Exactly a year later, on August 10, he fell critically ill. May God do whatever is best for him & give me strength 2 accept both joys & sorrows of life with equanimity. I sincerely thank all for their concerns". Further, doctors at the Army Hospital Research And Referral said that Mukherjee had not shown any improvement in his health after the surgery. They also added that his condition has "worsened" and he remains "critical", and on life support. In Pranab Mukherjee's ancestral village in West Bengal, Villagers started a Maha Mritunjaya Yajna for his speedy recovery. Pranab Mukherjee was also tested positive for Coronavirus.
