14 December 2018 Current Events Supreme Court's decision over Rafale deal today

The apex court will be giving its decision over Rafale deal today, addressing petitions that have demanded a probe over the matter. The seating bench will include Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice K M Joseph, and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul.

The judgement had been reserved by the court on November 14th. The matter at hand will be whether or not a probe on Rafale deal should be allowed.


Kamal Nath the new CM of Madhya Pradesh; uncertainty ensues in Rajasthan

Post the positive elections results, the Congress party is now handling the business of selecting its Chief Ministers for the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Late yesterday night, suspense ended over Madhya Pradesh, with Kamal Nath being selected as the CM.

The veteran leader was chosen over Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Congress youth leader who was being seen as the other choice over Nath. Scindia has supported the selection of Kamal Nath. In Rajasthan, the choice still hasn't been made between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot. The final result is expected to come today.
