Becoming the first state of India to do so, Gujarat announced on Sunday that it would now be granting 10% reservation to poor people from the general category. According to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, the quota will be in effect starting January 14.
The quota, however, will not be applicable in cases where the examination/interview in question commenced before January 14.
The Delhi Police will be filing a charge sheet against ten people today, in connection with the JNU incident of February 2016. Of these, are student leaders like Umar Khalid, Kanhaiya Kumar. The charges put will be of sedition, given the alleged anti-national slogans used by the people involved.
In February 2016, an event was organised by JNU students. It is there that many claim anti-national slogans were raised.
