India beat Zimbabwe by six wickets

India scored 288 for 4 in 48.4 overs to defeat Zimbabwe, the team that made 287 runs in 48.5 overs. It is the 10th successive victory of India in the World Cup matches. Suresh Raina (110 not out) and Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (85 not out) showed a splendid partnership of 196 runs at Eden Park. Raina made century in 94 balls. India will now face Bangladesh in the quarter-finals.

Bhaiyyaji Joshi re-elected as general secretary of RSS

Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has re-elected Bhaiyyaji Joshi as the RSS Sarkaryavah (general secretary). This will be his second consecutive term as general secretary. He will serve the three years' term for next three years till 2018. It was being said that Sah-Sarkaryavah (joint- general secretary) Dattatrey Hosabale would replace Bhaiyyaji.

Mufti Mohammad-Led Government in J&K Withdraw State Flag Orders

Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led government in Jammu and Kashmir had to withdraw state flag circular order issued by the General administration department of the state. As per the order, all the constitutional authorities were asked to respect the state flag, and the flag must be hoisted jointly with the union flag. Not doing this is a disrespect as per the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Prevention of Insult to State Honours Act 1979. But within 24 hours of the issuance of order, the state government withdrew the circular and an enquiry has been ordered.

RBI Makes Changes for Easy Loan for Differently Abled Persons

As a change, Reserve Bank of India asked banks that loans given to persons with disabilities must be classified under the category of loans to weaker section. Weaker sections of the society are likely to get loan from banks under priority sector norms of RBI. As per current norms, banks are bound to lend 10% of adjusted net bank credit to the weaker sections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked for greater cooperation in major areas of maritime-security and counter-terrorism during his Sri Lanka visit. He addressed Sri Lankan Parliament and said that Sri Lanka's integrity is important for India. PM Modi also added that India will provide unstinted support to Sri Lanka in its growth and development. He said that both the nations must work on building a climate of trust and confidence.
