Manchu brothers to produce biggest Telugu multi-starrer

Brothers Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manoj announced that they will produce and act in the biggest Telugu multi-starrer yet. The project will also feature their father Manchu Mohan Babu with other actors such as Hansika Motwani, Praneetha, Varun Sandesh and Tanish. The yet-to-be-titled film will also feature Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon in an important role.

Director Srivas will helm the project and will feature four music directors. The film will be produced under the banners 24 Frames Factory and Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures.

Injury-prone Manoj Tiwary keen to perform in IPL

Despite successive injuries which have plagued his international career, batsman Manoj Tiwary hopes to take the setbacks in his pace. "I don't know why injuries are chasing me, but at the end of the day I sit back and think about it... I just take it in a positive way and I have to move on because injuries are part and parcel of any sportsman's career," said Tiwary.

Tiwary is back in action after a rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

Samsung offers cash back to entice Smart Phone buyers

After introducing the EMI scheme, Samsung is now offering 15% cash back on its flagship “Galaxy” range. Samsung is trying to encourage customers to upgrade to high-end phones. "The strong success that we are garnering with zero per cent finance-based offers encouraged us to offer the 15% cash back offer with Standard Chartered and ICICI Bank," said Asim Warsi, Samsung Vice President (Mobile). The offer will be valid on Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Tab2, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Camera.

India commences talks to nudge up trade with Russia

India is looking for a jump in bilateral investments, as it begins on talks with Russia to promote free trade and seek their participation in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, a mega infrastructure project. The India-Russia trade grew by 25% last year and crossed the $11-billion mark. It is on its way to reach the $20-billion target by 2015.

BJP must name PM nominee by December: JD-U

The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) set a deadline before the BJP asking it to name the party's prime ministerial candidate by December. "We demand that the BJP declare its candidate for the prime minister's post at the earliest and certainly by the year-end as has been the practice," said JD-U. The 2014 general election is scheduled in March-May 2014.

President condoles passing away of RP Goenka

President Pranab Mukherjee condoled the passing away of industrialist RP Goenka, saying he had lost a personal friend. The president in his message to the industrialist's wife said, “Shri Goenka was an industrialist whose contribution to the establishment of various industrial and business enterprises helped in national development as well as created employment opportunities for thousands of our people”. He further said, “I knew 'Rama Babu', as he was fondly called by his friends, for many years. As a member of parliament he made valuable contributions in the deliberations of the house”.
