Kejriwal attacks Khurshid again, Congress supports him

There was a series of events today with Kejriwal dismissing Khurshid's claim that the equipment were distributed to the handicapped persons from Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust. Beni Prasad Verma the Congress minister stated why a central minister will be involved in embezzlement of such a low amount of only Rs 71 lakhs and then retracted from his statement saying he was misinterpreted. Congress rallied around Khurshid. Kejriwal suddenly called off his protest against Khurshid in New Delhi and promised to take it to his constituency Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh from Nov 1.

Coal allocation: CBI files two FIRs, raids 16 places

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered two fresh FIRs in its investigation of allocation of coal blocks. The agency raided 16 places in seven cities across the country.New Delhi-based company Green Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (now Athena Infra Projects Pvt Ltd) and Satna (Madhya Pradesh) based Kamal Sponge Steel & Power Ltd were the two companies against which the FIRs were registered for misrepresentation of net worth during coal blocks allocation.Six directors, some public servants, and some unknown persons connected to Green Infrastructure have been named in the FIR while three directors, an accountant, some unidentified public servants as well as other people have been named in the FIR against Kamal Sponge Steel & Power Ltd.

Eicher Motors to launch two-wheeler plant in 2013

Automobile giant Eicher Motors is expected to commission a Rs.150-crore two-wheeler plant near Chennai by the first quarter of next year.The company's new facility at Oragadam which will be completed by the first quarter of 2013 and the existing plant here will be producing around 150,000 units per annum. The division has increased the capacity from 3,000 units to 10,000 units per month to meet the increased demand for its Bullet and Thunderbird motorcycles.The division also looks into overseas markets for its two-wheelers and ships 4,000 motorcycles per annum to markets like the US, Britain, Germany, France and Australia.

India, Russia to resolve liability for Kudankulam III and IV

In the wake of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit, India and Russia Monday decided to strengthen their economic ties and consented to factor in liability concerns in the final deal for units III and IV of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP).Russia,in addition also asked for creation of a stable investment climate. it was also specified that Russia was not too happy over New Delhi's stand on investment by Russia's Sistema, saying one should not change the rules of the game in the middle.

High court directs Archery association to follow national sports code in election

Delhi High Court directed the Archery Association of India on Monday to adhere to the national sports code and file the nomination papers for various posts in its upcoming Oct 28 election to the returning officer and "not to the president of the body". A detailed order will be passed by the court later on.This came when the court was hearing a plea where it was alleged that the association did not follow the National Sports Development Code despite an earlier court order. The plea filed by advocate Rahul Mehra, sought for fresh elections of the office bearers of the Archery Association of India (AAI) conforming to the National Sports Development Code of India, 2011.The AAI according to its first notification, was to hold the election on Sep 29 but later deferred it to Oct 28.

Saif-Kareena to wed on Tuesday

The wedding festivities of Bollywood actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are in full swing with the couple set to exchange wedding vows in a private affair on Tuesday.After a sangeet ceremony on Sunday at Kareena's Bandra residence, the mehndi ceremony was held on Monday.The couple will have a registered marriage on Tuesday at Saif's house in Mumbai which will be attended by close friends and family members.Saif's ancestral home Pataudi Palace in Haryana is being geared up for 'nikaah' on Oct 17, followed by a reception on Oct 18. Raghuvendra Rathore has designed an achkan for Saif while Kareena will be wearing a Ritu Kumar designed traditional sharara.

India to establish a cyber security panel

To control cyber attacks the government decided to set up a joint working group which will start four pilot projects for the purpose and would engage the private sector. This would include atesting laboratory, a test audit, studying vulnerabilities of the critical information infrastructure and a multi-disciplinarycenterfor excellence. The permanent JWG would implement all the recommendations of the group. Cyber security is new phenomenon and the country needs to adapt to it is what being thought of.
