What Happened on 15 October 2019
Three of Mumbai's heritage structures got recognition by UNESCO. These structures such as Flora Fountain and Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue at Fort and Our Lady of Glory Church at Byculla. Apart from these three structures from India, 16 from China, Australia, New Zealand, and Bhutan has bagged the award. The fourth structure from India which has managed to get itself listed is Vikram Sarabhai Library at the Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad. This is not the first time Mumbai's structure got recognition, but in 2018, two other structures namely the Ruttonsee Muljee Jetha Fountain near Ballard Estate in Fort, the Rajabhai Clock tower and the University of Mumbai library building was awarded as well.
