16 October 2019 Current Events India has ranked 102nd on the Global Hunger Index

India has ranked 102nd on the Global Hunger Index (GHI) amongst the index of 117 countries. It is one of the lowest rank country amongst rest of the South Asian countries which are between 66 and 94. India's rank started dropping from 2015 when it ranked 93. In 2017, India's rank was 97 and Pakistan was at 107; in 2017 it was 100 and Pakistan was 106; in 2018 India ranked 103 and Pakistan was at 106. And in 2019, the rank of India and Pakistan altered as india was in 102 and Pakistan at 93. The GHI ranks countries on "100 point scale", where 0 is considered the best with no hunger and 100 being the worst.
