On April 3, 2019, the high court of Madras ordered the government to ban TikTok, stating that it encourages pornography and is affecting child users, making them prone to sexual predators. As per reports, this ruling came in a case where an anonymous person launched public interest litigation and requested the HC to ban TikTok. Google has finally blocked the access of this widely popular app in India on Wednesday 16 April 2019, following the state court's rule, that prohibits the use and downloads of this popular app.
