Amidst the extended strict lockdown across the nation, people are violating rules and participating in mass gatherings. On Thursday, hundreds of people gathered in the Siddhalingeswara temple chariot festival in Chitapur village, Karnataka. A case has been filed against 20 people who were present in the celebration, and further investigation is underway to determine more details related to the gathering. A sub-inspector has also been taken into custody. Another similar incident took place in Tamil Nadu, where nearly 200 people disobeyed the lockdown rules by attending a bull's funeral, that was famous for winning Jallikattu. A complaint was registered against seven villagers for violating the laws by the mass gathering. Local media covering the event said the admirers of the bull came with garlands, towels and bundles of cash for his sendoff. The total number of cases in India stands at 13,387.
