18 June 2019 Current Events Save money on using solar power

As per recent news updates, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) is finally coming up with virtual net metering (VNM) and group net metering (GNM) framework. News reports state that this notification will benefit several Resident welfare association (RWAs), CGHS societies and households. Moreover, single solar plant which will be installed at any particular location will benefit users of that area. Surplus energy provided by the solar plant will be sent back to the grid. Later, the billing amount will be adjusted with the meter which that solar plant is connected to. The spokesperson of Tata Power-DDL said that this significant step will help in deploying and promoting renewable energy projects. However, it will benefit majority of citizens and farmers. Currently the company is having around 630 net metering connections, which would further shoot up on implementation.
