18 March 2020 Current Events Uddhav Thackrey: Transportation in Maharashtra Can be Suspended if People don't Cooperate with the Authorities

Maharashtra government is witnessing the worst ever public health crisis after the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state. To combat the crisis, the state government is considering measures like stopping local suburban train and bus services in cities like Mumbai. Furthermore, the government is planning to advise 50% of its employees to work from home. So far, Mumbai, which is India's most industrialised and urbanised state, has been affected the most with 41 confirmed cases in the city. However, the Maharashtra Cabinet did not decide in its Tuesday cabinet meeting on the suspension of public transport. Still, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey has warned the suspension of transport services would become unpreventable if people don't cooperate with the authorities.
