PM was consulted on 'everything': Raja

Things got complicated with the draft report of the parliamentary panel on the 2G spectrum when former telecom minister A. Raja stated on Friday that everything was done after consultation with the Prime Minister.

The draft report of the parliamentary panel on 2G spectrum had blamed Raja but given a clean chit to Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram. The draft report received criticism from the opposition while  Congress MP and panel chief P.C. Chacko termed it as unbiased and based on facts.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated that the report seemed to be a Congress document, and that the leakage was a "gross breach of parliamentary propriety" as it was extensively reported in the media. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "This is a gross breach of well-settled parliamentary propriety where any report/draft is debated, discussed, amendments are moved in the formal meeting and thereafter a view is taken."

5 year old raped, tortured, kept without food and water for two days

A five-year-old girl is fighting for her life after going through the horrific ordeal of being repeatedly and brutally raped for two days. She was shifted to the Lok Nayak Hospital for treatment from Swami Dayanand Hospital and then to AIIMS.

The child was raped many times by her neighbour, who abducted her on April 15. She was held hostage in his flat in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar for more than two days. She was tortured and not even provided water and food.

She was saved by her family members who stayed in the same building after they heard her screams. The doctors were shocked to find a 200 ml bottle and two or three pieces of candle inserted in her private parts. There were bruise marks on her lips and cheeks and neck, which showed that the man attempted to strangle her.

The child's condition is very critical and her blood pressure was extremely below normal. Protests returned on Delhi streets after the brutal gang rape of a 23 year old in December last year. Delhi, which is known as the "rape capital" of India, has seen over 390 rapes cases in the last three months in comparison to 152 cases in the corresponding period last year.
