India takes up the issue of social media misuse with Pakistan

 India on Sunday took up with Pakistan the matter of misuse of social media sites, by elements based in Pakistan-to whip up communal sentiments in the country. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik, that false pictures and stories were being circulated through mobile phones and Facebook to incite communal sentiments in India. As security has been tightened in Bangalore no further incident was reported there. The Karnataka government has appealed to those who have left the state to return and assured them of security. The Congress chief Sonia Gandhi demanded action against those behind the Assam violence and those who were responsible for the mistreatment of people from the northeast. In Mumbai, a local court extended the police custody of 23 people arrested in connection with violence at the Azad Maidan last week. They were booked on Aug 12.

BJP blames government for intelligence failure

BJP has blamed the government for intelligence failure in the recent Assam violence and the incidents thereafter.Yashwant Sinha, the BJP leader slammed Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and questioned his inaction in the happenings. Gogoi has stated that he always felt there was foreign hand in the incidents. Sinha said that aggression on social media was spread by Pakistan and the government can do precious little. Home Minister's discussing the matters only with the Karnataka chief minister when there was exodus from so many states, was questioned as well. 

Air India to induct first Boeing-787 Dreamliners this month

Air India expects to include the first of its new Boeing-787 Dreamliners by end of this month as the aircraft has got all the regulatory clearances from the Federal Aviation Administration for flying to India. The aircraft is expected to be in India in a week's time. General Manager for the wide-bodied aircraft and director of operation are there in the US to complete the formalities of sale and lease back of the aircraft. Air India will be the third global airline after All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines to get the fuel-efficient and eco-friendly aircraft.

VVS Laxman's retirement sparks off controversy

 VVS Laxman's sudden retirement has sparked off a controversy and there are discussions that the stylish batsman was not treated well by the BCCI and the selection committee. It was quite surprising that Laxman decided to quit even though he was selected in the team for the two-match Test series against New Zealand. He even did not agree to play a farewell match in his hometown Hyderabad where the series kick starts from August 23. Laxman has just stated that he has listened to his inner voice for taking this decision.

Boman gets into the skin of the character

Boman Irani during the shoot of 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi' got a surprise. He plays the character of a salesman of a lingerie shop and during the shooting the shop was so well designed  that women actually stepped in to buy the lingerie. It was only when they saw Boman Irani and the crew that they realized that was a set. In fact Boman went ahead and asked them what they wanted, much to their surprise. The movie produced by Bhansali productions and Eros international is directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal and releases on August 24, 2012.

Pushkar Mahatta the website's founder said there were plans to add more features like virtual shopping malls connected to e-commerce. He is into real estate business and hit with this idea while acquiring properties for his business. The website currently targets youth across the world. The site which was launched on June 6 has over a lakh users in 1600 cities. It works on a motion technology known as Float. Users can walk around different cities and check virtual real estates and billboards across the world. The site's current valuation is $250 million and it is being positioned as the largest billboard company where users can advertise in cities of their choice.
