19 December 2018 Current Events Was "never afraid of speaking to the press"; Manmohan Singh takes a jibe at Modi

Speaking at the launch of his book 'Changing India', the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made strong hits at his successor, Narendra Modi.

"I was not the PM who was afraid of talking to the press. I met the press… People say I was a silent PM, but these volumes will speak for themselves", Singh was quoted as saying, while addressing the media. The statements were an obvious hit at the current PM Modi, who as part of the opposition, often criticized Singh for being "Maun-Mohan".


ISRO's satellite Gsat-7A to be launched today

The satellite will allow the Indian Air Force (IAF) to establish an interlinked connection between different locations on the ground, including airbases and radar stations. It is expected to significantly improve the IAF's warfare capabilities.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s communication satellite Gsat-7A will be launched at 4:10 PM today. Using ticket GSLV-F11 (GSLV Mk II), the process will be undertaken via the second launchpad in Sriharikota.
