We need consistency –MS Dhoni

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni after a defeat against New Zealand said that to win the game more consistent performance is required from his batsmen. India lost the first ODI of the five-match series against New Zealand. In this match India was chasing the score of 293 and lost. Virat Kohli showed a commendable performance. His score in the game was 121. At the post match press conference Dhoni said that fall of three wickets Virat, Ravindra Jadeja and mine had changed the game. The time required partnership but fall of wicket did all wrong.  We should learn from this. Batsmen at number four and five are not consistent for us who are very important when score of opposite team is 280-300 runs. After losing wickets early, we require a partnership. But not doing so put pressure on the lower middle order batsmen. Reaching close to the target showed that the batsmen have a lot of firepower. But to win the game we need to play better. Captain Dhoni also praised his deputy Kohli who played brilliantly. He said that Virat had done a brilliant job and hoped that he would continue to perform so.
