19 November 2019 Current Events On 250th Rajya Sabha Session, Marshals' New Attire Irks Members

The opening day of the historic 250th winter session of upper house (Rajya Sabha), began on Monday with a controversy. The House marshals were seen in military-like uniform. Attires of the Rajya Sabha marshals were changed from the traditional bandhgala and turbans to navy blue-coloured military style uniform with caps. Veteran Congress leader Jairam Ramesh irked with the new costume. He asked, "Are you imposing Martial Law?" Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu asked Ramesh not to raise such an insignificant query and ordered the  review of the new military-like uniform for House marshals.
